About Military Property Agency
The Military Property Agency (MPA) is a State Agency, operating under the supervision of the Minister of National Defence. The Agency was established in 1996. The main tasks of MPA include:
- Sale or disposal otherwise of real properties, considered redundant to the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Interior.
- Management of movable property, considered redundant to the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Interior by way of sale and waste disposal. Waste disposal is applied in case of properties that fail to find a buyer or which must be subjected to waste treatment procedures due to its physico-chemical properties or legal constraints.
The Military Property Agency allocates 93% of profits generated from the management of property to the Armed Forced Modernisation Fund and to the Public Security Modernisation Fund. Since the beginning of its operations, MPA supplied the Funds referred to above with PLN 1.5 billion. MPA is a modern Agency operating under civilian management culture and in compliance with top standards, the statutory tasks of which are implemented by professional staff within the area of Poland.
Acting on behalf of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland and of the Ministry of National Defence MON, the Agency provides considerable support to local self-government units. Since the beginning of its operations, MPA transferred to self-governments real properties worth nearly PLN 572 million by way of no-bid sales or donations. To-date, the Agency paid local self-governments nearly PLN 199 million in local taxes and close to PLN 172 million as corporate income tax.
